Family Travel Heidelberg, Germany
November 02, 2011
Heidelberg, Germany is a picturesque small city about an hour from Frankfurt with a University and located along the Neckar River. Heidelberg is part of the German "Castle Road" and I so loved it long ago that I wanted to share it with my family and see it again.
With it's romantic, evocative castle ruins and colorful streets, it's perfect for family travel or anyone who enjoys history and pretty smaller towns. I still have so much to write about our time in Germany but here are a few posts that you might like on this topic:

Have you been to Heidelberg or on the Castle Road? What are your favorite places in Germany?

I can't WAIT to go to Germany. I'm a philosophy Geek, and have always been fascinated by Germany because if its rich history in philosophy.
I also love small towns and hate cities, so this sounds like a great recommendation!

Coolio Marlana! The Romantic road and Castle roads are the best part of Germany in my opinion. They can get quite crowded in summer, but we loved them in the early fall with the leaves turning and most tourists gone.

That photo looks like a picture postcard. I only live in England and have never been to Germany but this place definately makes me want to visit sometime soon!

My friend's family is from Germany and we may book a flight soon to go to Oktoberfest this fall. Really excited to explore Bavaria and have a chance to see Munich. The top sitres I want to see are the BMW headquarters and Neuschwanstein Castle. If we have time we may venture north to Berlin.

Germany is really on the top of my list of the places where I want to stay for a while. I have really an itch for travel and I guess this is a good place to be in.
