Beautiful Rainbows Around the World!
April 11, 2012

I am still touched and amazed by rainbows and feel lucky that we had two magnificent ones this week. They actually made each one of us, say, "wow" in wonder. Every rainbow has a story and tends to mark that place in time.
Mystical rainbows remain one of the most spectacular light shows on earth that inspires poems and inspiration. We've been blessed to see so many awesome rainbows around the world during our non-stop family world travels these last six years. They are hard to catch on film, but the memories are forever.
"God puts rainbows in the clouds so that each of us - in the dreariest and most dreaded moments - can see a possibility of hope." Maya Angelou
DOUBLE RAINBOW IN ASIA

Maybe because I am still a kid at heart, I still get excited every time I see a rainbow or a hummingbird. That sense of magic has stayed with me always. I remember clearly showing Mozart her first rainbow when she was just a few months old...wanting to pass on one of the joys of life. This double rainbow in Asia made a lovely Easter surprise!
RAINBOW IN THE SAHARA IN AFRICA

One of our most thrilling rainbows on our open ended family world trip was just before we took a camel trek in the Sahara desert in Morocco. Talk about magic, this is an extremely rare occurrence there.
RAINBOW IN FRANCE

The rainbow we saw in France next to a huge cross on the side of the road, was especially gratifying and mysterious as we had just been in a motorhome wreck and we were trying to make a ferry to Ireland.
RAINBOW ON THE ADRIATIC BETWEEN VENICE AND GREECE

Another magical and mysterious rainbow landed on DaVinci's birthday on-board a ferry ship between Italy and Greece. What a wonderful way to celebrate!
RAINBOW IN CALIFORNIA

This rainbow at our dream home in California was a sweet good bye before we sold it in 2005 and started our location independent traveling lifestyle.
"Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray." Lord Byron
Have you ever seen rainbows on your travels? Do you enjoy them as we do at home or abroad?

A phenomenon I always look for, caught one in France over our little caravan, but my favorite is a shot my brother took in the countryside in Lajes, Portugal. Loved your pics!

Agreed that rainbows are always a little exciting to see, and always worth noting. Hope you'll let me share this one from outside my old office window. Definitely made work a little more bearable!

What a delightful post, Jeanne! A promise of life and safety and joy after storms to Soul Travelers everywhere.
On a raw note, I just read this article on a Canadian chef who has "gone raw." Thought you might be interested...
