Top Travel Bloggers of 2013? Soultravelers3 Wins!

January 03, 2013

jumping for joy in Paris

We Soultravelers3 were voted one of the Top Travel Bloggers of 2013. Wow! How cool is that? We are super honored and appreciate all the people who nominated and voted for us!! You rock!

There are only  13 amazing bloggers on the list like my friends Journeywoman, Camels and Chocolate, Conde Nast Travelers' Wendy Perrin,  and National Geographic's Andrew Evan, so the competition was stiff because there are soooo many travel bloggers and some with huge audiences from major travel publications.

We give a big warm welcome to all you new readers who discovered us from Christopher Elliott's cool site where the contest took place. He is one of my favorite people in travel!

In a nutshell, we are a family that has been traveling the world non-stop for the last seven plus years to 45 countries on 5 continents on just $23/day. We share inspiring ideas, photos, tips and videos about what we are learning along the way of our ultimate travel adventure...  from how to raise a multilingual kid to how to eat healthy while traveling while keeping to a tiny budget.

We've been so very blessed in our travels with things like winning  two Lonely Planet Best Travel Blog Awards, other best travel blog awards, interviewed in the New York Times, on BBC world wide TV about social media and travel, on Fox News about digital nomads,  featured case studies  in 4 Hour Workweek , The Art of NonConformity and more without even trying, but these things still absolutely stun me as we are mostly unplugged these days.

This one happened while we were busy exploring  China with little time for the internet, so it came as a total surprise out of the blue. Our blog is basically a labor of love, so this is very humbling and we so appreciate your support. We're very old for a travel blog, so have put a lot of energy into this blog over the years, so it's really sweet to be acknowledged by our readers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You've touched our hearts deeply once again, so we send you all a great big cyber hug!

Congratulations! This is a well-deserved recognition. It's fascinating and inspirational to follow your life-journey, so I'm not surprised your blog won.

Mais naturellement! Congratulations, Jeanne and family!! There are many online who live and who blog unique lifestyles. But never have I encountered such tremendous love and soul and grace in one little family's not-so-little site. :-)

Margaret Sch.

I really hope that all these wins continue to help you keep on traveling for as long as your hearts so desire, by inspiring more sponsorships and so on. Meanwhile, it has been great fun to be part of your journey so far and I truly hope and expect that Mozart will be able to parlay these achievements into college or career options of her choosing. Regardless of any of this, congratulations! You most definitely deserve all these accolades and many more!

Deependra Simkhada

I really hope this blog brings you prosperous in your life to promote tourism industry in the world.

Jeanne @soultravelers3

Thanks so much Katherine! I really appreciate your kind words and for taking the time to write them!

Jeanne @soultravelers3

Wow, such sweet words HullsEdge! I am very touched.I am so grateful that you "get" what I've been trying to give through this blog as a non-writer just slogging along as we travel...often or even usually... writing with slow internet in not ideal conditions in short spurts of stolen time, usually in the early AM or night when my beloveds sleep.

My belief is if we are a street sweeper, a travel blogger or what ever, we can do it with love and hopefully uplift those we reach.

Since I am far from a perfect person, I am thrilled that you "get" some of the love that we try to put here through our words, photos, videos etc. ;)

The world gives to us in so many ways when we travel, so I try to give back!

Jeanne @soultravelers3

You are so sweet Margaret and I appreciate your kindness and caring. I think of you, like so many regular readers that I have known now for years, as dear friends, even though we have never met.

Such fun to have you and all with us on our world tour! ;)

We never expected this virtual connection that comes with our blog and social media. A bit like having long term penpals around the world...and some we get to meet when our paths cross.

We make almost nothing on this blog, so it would be great to have some fabulous sponsors.

I am not sure how this blog will affect Mozart, but you are right, it probably will. She certainly has met some amazing people through it and I think she will be doing more with it as she gets older.

One reader suggested that she do some books for each country for little kids, so we are looking into that as a project for her to help others as well as learn some entrepreneurial, publishing skills and money.

We hope to involve her in more service projects too.

She has her eye on Harvard and or Stanford...and will need a full scholarship...so we will have to see how that unfolds. ;)

Who knows what the future brings, but we are loving it all and filled with gratitude!

This blog attracts the most magnificent people and that never ceases to amaze me and fill my heart.

Jeanne @soultravelers3

Thanks Deependra, sounds good to me! ;)

Kristy

Congratulations! You truly deserved the award and the recognition. Hopefully this will serve as a drive for you to write more interesting travel articles for us, your avid readers. God bless and may your family have a safe trip always.

Andi

Congrats!

Jeanne @soultravelers3

Thanks so much Kristy, so appreciate that!
