China is full of contrasts.Right next to opulent luxury shopping and skyscraper skylines, one will also see sights like these over stuffed primitive bike carts piled high with various goods.
That is part of what makes China travel a fascinating trip for most people. Life in China has some similarities to Western lifestyles, but also very different in many ways. This photo was taken in Beijing's CBD ( Central Business District) which is the primary area for finance, business and media.

Do you think that he was going to sell that or for his own personal use? I have a friend in the Dominican Republic who does all of her cooking using only fire wood. She says it adds a richer taste to the food.

I wondered the same thing, Gabrielle! There was no way to tell, this was just a drive by shot.
We've been to places where they use only wood and we did see some wood fires for cooking there and some coal as well.
There is amazing wealth in China, but also lots of poverty.
