Healthy Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe - No Machine!
August 23, 2013
Who doesn't like chocolate? Did you know it was VERY easy to make this super delicious, healthy chocolate ice cream, even without an ice cream machine? We make ice cream almost every weekend out of coconut milk as we enjoy our long term travel lifestyle treats in tropical Asia.
In my recent father-daughter relationship post, I first told about making this chocolate ice cream recipe along with the paleo pizza and banana bread when we celebrated DaVinci's 60th birthday. It was a BIG hit while allowing us to stay on our grain free, sugar free food on our cavity prevention and curing diet during our healing journey.
The first photo shows it served with the banana bread, sliced bananas and a few walnuts. YUM!
We don't have chocolate often, because we avoid phytic acid ( alas even raw organic Cacao powder has it) and even curtail our raw organic honey to minute amounts...but it is perfect for a special occasion, so savored!
We love combining health and travel now with our organic food, juicing, making kefir, bone broth, grass fed raw milk, pastured raw eggs and learning every health secret we can like goat cheese, mayonaise, soda pop, healthy snacks and so much more.
But life is more fun with a little chocolate indulgence and this delectable ice cream fits that bill!
RECIPE FOR EASY, HEALTHY CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM
1 1/2 cup coconut milk
4 pastured egg yolks
2 TBL raw, unheated honey
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 TBL organic raw cocoa powder
Whisk together then put in freezer til frozen.
It doesn't have the airy texture, but we just let it melt a little and enjoy every bite! Sure beats the antifreeze and other toxins found in most ice cream you buy.
What is your favorite ice cream?

Hi Jeanne, I love chocolate ice cream too. A thought for you: Do you have an immersion blender or hand mixer? If so, you could whip up your ice cream after you have chilled it till it's frozen around the edges. Then back in the freezer till the edges freeze again. You could do this a few times. I think that would get you the airy texture. Although chocolate, raw yolks, coconut milk, raw honey...still sounds delicious to me!!

I love this recipe, thank you.
I can't wait to make it one of these days, and I think since we live in Belgium I will add lots of chocolate to this recipe.
