Don't you love these cute houses? We really enjoyed our budget travel to Norway, one of the most expensive countries in Europe. We loved the Norway in a Nutshell tour and saw a lot in a short time. Family travel can mean learning about architecture while visiting the fabulous fjords in Norway.

Bergen was one of the delights of  our visit to Norway. We loved the fish market, met interesting people, sampled beautiful traditional crafts like the warm, colorful sweaters and enjoyed a picnic near the sea across from these lovely buildings. Happy travel memories really are the best, aren't they?

  1. I LOVE Scandinavian houses! We lived in Denmark, and I couldn’t get enough of the colorful rows. But Norway’s are even better. I haven’t had the chance to get to Bergen just yet, but I was north of there in Geirangerfjorden two years ago and would be happy to live on the west coast of Norway for a spell!

  2. Aren’t they fun Kristin? We loved all of Scandinavia ( but wouldn’t care for their long, dark winters) …the summers are wonderful! You’d love Bergen & I am sure you will get there some day. Beautiful countryside & charming towns.

  3. Ha Jo! These are very old houses in a city that face the water, so probably pretty prime real estate even today.
BUT there is plenty of open space in Norway and Scandinavia with cute homes in the country side or even on their own island.
So LOTS of space for those who like more of it like you. 😉
