Do you know how easy it is to make delicious healthy chips? If you are into healthy organic food like we are, you will skip the packaged, processed potato chips that are full of dangerously unhealthy fats and let your kid make her own! She made these from root veggies like tunips, sweet potatoes and beets. Scrumptious…better than the one's we use to buy at Trader Joes in California and much cheaper too.
It's a wonderfully fun homeschool project that Mozart likes to do on weekends which teaches her first hand that real food is the way to go and can be more delicious too. Reading things like "The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food" or watching Youtube videos like, "Sugar: the bitter truth" help her understand WHY eating healthy today is more important than ever.
SUPER EASY CHIP RECIPE
You only need 3 ingredients…root vegetable, sea salt and coconut oil. ( We like turnips, beets and sweet potatoes best).
1) Slice thin ( mandolin makes it easiest and they are cheap ,but a knife also works if you are handy).
2) Put them in a bowl with some coconut oil and celtic sea salt and swish a bit ( hint- do beets last as they leave everything red).
3) Then pop then in the oven on a baking sheet as shown above ( 325 F) for approximately 25 minutes turning half way.
We are eating no sugar, no grains and on a super healthy diet to prevent and cure cavities ( working great so far and lightened my daughter's tooth color about 5 shades in the first month and a huge improvement in my blood work), BUT that doesn't mean we can't eat super delish food and snacks!

Oh very nice, no sugar, no grains 🙂 What a great snack/treat for the kids oh and myself hehe
That is awesome. I am definitely going to try this. I make some very healthy bars by mixing bananas and oatmeal and throwing it in the oven. You can add nuts and other fruit to it to mix it up as well.
Thanks Cheryl! Always good to have healthy and yummy snacks!
Thanks Gabe! Sounds great!
