Family travel is about discovering ancient traditional crafts like lace work as we have in several places including in Brugge at the Kancentrum (Lace Museum) and in Galica , Spain in Camarinas, a lace making village since the 16th century. It was also fun to discover the connection between the two. In this day of machinery made things, it is exciting to see things made by hand with such exquisite attention to detail. We loved our time in Brugge and Belgium, but the chocolate and the lace will always stand out in our memories.

We were in Brussels this July. The waffles with Belgian chocolate were a highlight! Unfortunately we only had one night but we’re planning to go back soon, it’s a great gateway to the rest of Europe.
We live for things made by hand!
This lace work is fabulous! Thanks for sharing this with us!

Mozart is so little in the Brugge pictures. She’s grown a lot. Very blessed girl.
Anne- Yum, sounds delish!
Freely – Thanks! We love hand made things too!
Jo – She has grown hasn’t she? Funny how kids do that, eh? She is still a tiny thing only in size 6 ( usually falling off her at the waste) and she just turned 10. 😉
