Is Europe a mecca for chocoholics? This beautiful chocolate truffle photo was taken in Sitges, Spain, but some of the best chocolate in the world is in Europe, so we have indulged in it in MANY places. When it comes to family travel, there is never a chocolate shop/chocolatier that children ( full grown or pint sized) will not want to stop at and try a piece or two.
You can even add some of Europe’s best chocolate sights in your vacation or holiday itinerary. We found the Lindt Chocolate Museum (Schokolademuseum) in Koeln/Cologne, Germany delicious, fun and educational! You can learn chocolate’s history, watch it being made as well as trying lip-smacking samples.
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate impressed us in Belgium one of our early stops in beautiful Brugge on our family world tour.It had more Chocolate than we imagined and it was as beautiful as it was delicious.
We’ve also had some amazing hot chocolate in Paris, Madrid ( thick as pudding) , Venice doing a kid’s intinerary and other places.

What are your fave chocolate places or things?
Right now I’m searching for the perfect chocolate tour for a group of teenage girls on our trip to Switzerland in December. I’ve narrowed it down to Schuh Chocolatier in Interlaken and Callier in Broc.

YUMMY. Chocolate is very expensive where I live (probably the same price as Europe, but very here high for Thailand prices).
I love the chocolate museum in Cologne as well! Living in Cologne there are some great places to buy chocolate in cafés near Ehrenstraße, for example Törtchen Törtchen is one of my personal faves. Great that you dedicated a blog post to chocolate!
