Exploring China Town Los Angeles & Chinese New Year!
February 05, 2019

Happy Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year and this is the year of the pig, but we have two dragons in our family ( and visited China in a dragon year). Don't miss some of our other posts about Chinese New Year living in Asia.

Los Angeles does not have a big China Town, but it is fun for us to experience the culture and architecture etc after having lived in Asia and traveled a lot in that area. Plus the fact that Mozart is fluent in Mandarin. Remember when Mozart sang in the Dallas China town ( which is even smaller than the one in Los Angeles)?

One of the best parts of visiting China Town in Los Angeles, is just walking around Central Plaza.

It's fun to visit any time with the kiddie rides and stores filled with fun surprises and even more exciting to explore during a Chinese holiday.
The gates are something not to miss ....
...and the bright colored buildings in the traditional Chinese architecture.
Even the walk way in is filled with dragons ....
...and you will find red lanterns everywhere.
The stores are filled red goodies from Asia .....
...and down many side streets you can stumble upon some amazing art galleries too!

It is easy to find it downtown near the Civic Center and parking is cheap and plentiful.

Wishing you a great earth pig year and pleasant adventure in China Town!

Let me know if you have been there and what was your favorite part! 新年快樂
