Easy, Cute, Cheap DIY Halloween Costume
October 31, 2013

Do you need a last minute idea for a Halloween costume that you can make on a frugal budget? We loved this cute one that our almost teen came up with.
CREATING CUTE HALLOWEEN COSTUME ON A BUDGET
She wanted something cheap, colorful and cute that she could add her creativity to as she decided to throw a Halloween Karaoke party in Asia with her international friends.
HALLOWEEN AROUND THE WORLD
On our 8 year long trip around the world, she has celebrated Halloween from Bora Bora to Barcelona, but this is her first one in Asia. Here are more stories about her celebrating Halloween Around the World:
HALLOWEEN AROUND THE WORLD
BEST HALLOWEEN EUROPE OR USA?
HALLOWEEN CALIFORNIA BEACH STYLE
WORLD'S BEST HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS - SPOOKY TRIPS
HALLOWEEN IN BORA BORA
HALLOWEEN JACK -O'-LANTERN FUN

CUTE FOR A KID OR TEEN, BUT NOT TOO WIERD OR SCARY
Since she was going to the mall and and taking the bus in Penang, she would be around some people who did not celebrate Halloween, and wanted something that was fun, but would not stand out too much in a crowd in a foreign city.
This beanie baby adorable duck fit the bill perfectly and she had a ball making it. I see it as part of her homeschooling as it took creativity to reseach it, solve the problems, paint and make it. We couldn't find a yellow hat any where, so she bought a black one and painted it.

HOW TO MAKE THIS COSTUME
Find a beany baby you like
Find or buy clothes that fit the colors of the baby animal and local weather
Make the hat ( paint if needed) and eyes
Make a TY tag for your neck

HEALTHY TREAT?
Since we are on a very strict cure cavities and gum disease naturally diet, our tween can not eat candy, but she did get to indulge in an absolutely delicious healthy treat. I made a bit of the frosting that goes with the world's best chocolate cake!
What are your plans for Halloween?

Wow! What a Lucky, Lucky, girl to be able to say she has Halloweened in so many places. BTW, Loved the costume too ;)
~> We live in the USA. So, my kids or I had no worries about dressing up. We also make our costumes too. For our Halloween, we went Trick or Treating. We just walked around a neighbor hood and when we got home, I went thru their haul and removed any questionable pieces. It was a Great night!
